If you want to grow hair faster, essential oils are the way to go. Essential oils penetrate deeply into the skin on your scalp, nourishing the hair follicle and stimulating its growth, at the same time inhibiting hair loss by preventing the hormone that produces DHT which causes hair loss. And that’s only the beginning of what oils can do. They can make your hair shinier and healthier. They can relieve dandruff, eczema, or psoriasis without being dangerous to your scalp and hair, they can soothe an irritated itchy scalp. Soften your hair. Disinfect and stimulate the scalp. All these benefits with no nasty toxins and their side effects are actually good for you.
You can add a few drops to your store bought products to turn ok products into amazing products that are better than expensive brands. Get to know them and what they do and you’re in control of your hair and skin.
Of course, different oils do different things. Some overlap but in different ways such as tea tree oil and clary sage, which are both excellent anti bacterial oils, or lavender and chamomile, which are both soothing and calming. Some shouldn’t be used while pregnant because it can induce labor such as clary sage or rosemary or can be used to induce labor should you be due.
Like with everything we do, ingredients matter and the more potent and well made your essential oils are the better your results. Poor quality oils like those found in markets and many websites, have been distilled from poor crops, have been handled improperly, or are old and usually impotent, weak or stale and lack the therapeutic benefit of good quality oils. A good quality essential oil should come from reputable companies. Organic oils are typically superior to non-organic oils. An essential oil is a liquid that is generally distilled, usually by steam or water, from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other elements of a plant. They contain the true essence of the plant it was derived from. Essential oils are highly concentrated and a little goes a long way.
Essential oils are used by diluting them with a carrier oil like grapeseed oil, sweet almond or jojoba oil. Never use the essential oils directly on the skin, they should always be diluted to 2% of solution. But when used properly and in the right combinations they can work wonders in the hair and scalp.
